So we are now in our second week of “normal” working. The team returned on 22nd June and were into a full week of seeing glaucoma patients on behalf of the Royal Eye Infirmary. These were in the main patients who should have had their routine glaucoma monitoring appointment in March or April but were postponed due to the pandemic. It was certainly a very different way of working with staff wearing full PPE and patients wearing a face mask during the appointment. Some patients were understandable cautious as this was for many the first time they had left the house since lock down. However everything went well and I am pleased to say that many patients said that they felt very safe because of the safety and hygiene measures that are in place.
This week most of our patients are attending for an eye examination (sight test) and spectacle dispensing. I will let you know how it went at the end of the week! Keep safe. Andrew
